Last week, Gabe and I were invited over to our Houston Hopdoddy location in The River Oaks Shopping District. We both had never been, but had heard so much buzz around the name. Originally from Austin, Hopdoddy opened their first location on South Congress in Austin, Texas. With such a great location, the demand for more Hopdoddy increased significantly! A second location was opened in Austin on West Anderson Lane in the West Anderson Lane Plaza after SXSW madness, and Finally, The third Hopdoddy Burger Bar location came to Houston. Smart move, Chuck Smith! Houstonians are in love with the story behind Hopddody and the amazing service provided by every single team member, from the “Burger Bouncer” to the Chefs ( more like burger making magicians ) inside the kitchen making the magic happen.
8th Wonder Brewery – “Rocket Fuel”
“ThunderBird” Apple-Smoked Bacon, Pico De Gallo, Seared Poblano Peppers, Tillamook Pepper Jack and Avocado…. Yes, don’t worry. This is on the menu daily. This is a MUST try. The flavors are insanely good.
Gabe opted for The “Primetime” one of Hopdoddy’s most beloved burgers. Texas Akaushi Beef, Brie Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Truffle Aoli and Beefsteak Tomato. Really, Really Big Flavors and still very light on the stomach. This was a recommendation from our server, and she did not disappoint! Gabe loved it!
Girl Scouts S’mores Cookie Shake! Ya’ll… I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this! Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce, Crushed S’mores Cookies, Marshmallow, Fluff ( Yes, Marshmallow Fluff! ) and Whipped Cream! Now if this isn’t reason enough to make your way out to Hopdoddy now, I don’t know that will get you… Do it for the Shakes! ( Pshhh… A little secret between you and I, The new special Girl Scout Cookie “Thin Mint Shake” Launches Feb. 15-28 )… Ice Cream, Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie Pieces, Mint Syrup, Chocolate Sauce, AND Whipped Cream… Need I say more?
With all-natural burgers made with meat ground IN HOUSE, fresh baked buns baked TWICE a day, specialty sides of hand-cut fries, specialty shakes AND local craft beers, it is no wonder why Hopdoddy has been featured in multiple places such as Food Network, Food and Wine Magazine, Conde Naste Traveler Magazine, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Buzzfeed just to name a few. What a treat to be able to experience food that is not only a healthier option for those days where you just can’t stop a burger craving, but that at the same time, it’s also a healthier option that tastes undeniably AMAZING. You have to try it for yourself, and trust me on this one, DO NOT forget the milkshakes!
Thank you, Hopdoddy River Oaks for the AMAZING opportunity to be a guest at your newest Houston location. I cannot wait to visit the second Hopdoddy Location due to open in March in Rice Village. I hear talks of a new mainstay menu item….
